My parents in IL have an 800mhz rebuilt pc from Gateway with Windows ME purchased in May 2001. My dad says that every time he leaves the internet (AOL), and then goes into a game like Solitaire, after the first move, the computer gives him an error and he has to shutdown and restart. It's a bit irritating.

It sounds like he upgrades everytime AOL tells him to.

Another thing that might be related is that the mousepointer blinks.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Some programs do not release the memory when they are closed The best way around this problem is to shut down your computer then boot it back up to release the memory before going on to your next program Sounds like what is happening to dads computer It is a pain but it works everytime to insure you have a problem free experiance
