I've got a HP XL754, it came with Windows ME which I cleaned off and loaded windows 2000 professional. Recently I wanted to upgrade from my 128MB of RAM (2x64MB chips)..so I bought 2 256MB chips. My PC asks for PC100 and that's what I gave it. I tried putting in the new RAM but the PC won't boot, my BIOS gives a beep warning which I looked on the net for and found it as "Autosize DRAM" whatever that means. If I put one of the 65MB in and one of the new 256MB it only finds the 64MB. I checked on HP.com and my PC (so they say) can handle 2 256MB chips. It is a 850MHz, Pentium 3. Any ideas
