My O/S is Win ME. I use a HP 840C printer. It works fine except when I want to print envelopes. I go into the printer parameters and change it to print envelopes. I then put an envelope into the slot on the printer and tell the printer to print. The envelope runs through, but nothing is printed.

Can you help?

Hi,

First and farmost, please make sure you are using the right envelope.

Avoid using envelopes that shine or embossed envelopes Also avoid using envelopes that have clasps or windows Also avoid using envelops with thick irregular edges here are the proper steps in printing a single envelope:

1.go to the HP print settings box.

From your software program:

a click file and then print.

b click properties(clicking options at the point will not get you there)

c if you still do not see the box, click setup or options.

d Then click the button you see: setup or options.

2.In the HP settings box, click the setup tab:,then select an envelope size in the paper size box.

3 slide the envelope in the single envelope slot until it stops.

4 print the envelope. When the envelope has been printed change the paper size in the setup tab of the HP print settings box back to whatever paper size you will be printing on next
