I can not get my task bar to appear. I have gone into settings to make sure Autohide is not checked (it is not). I have pressed the control + excape keys to make it appear, then pressed alt -and the shift button to pull up the menu with the option "size" and it does not resize. It is no where visible for me to drag. In addition, at the same time I lost my taskbar, when I went into a a program the top portion of the box was off the top of the screen and could not be seen to follow the menu items located there (ex. file, edit, view, etc.) and attempting to drag it down did not work because I could not see or click at the top in search of the border to drag it. I even called Tech support and they do not know what to do since the Auto hide box is not checked. Help Please...

Hi Andrea,

Problem: a probable cause might be that the registry has been damaged.

A possible solution: use the registry editor to delete the following registry key:

HKEY_Current_users\software\Microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\stuckrects when you restart windows, the taskbar is automatically recreated.
