Fix Disk not present

Encountered a Disk I/O error, fix disk not present error, while trying to reformat.

This question was answered on October 25, 2002. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.


Make sure your Bios matches the physical setup of your drive configuration ie If the drive you are trying to format is the Master or the Slave make sure it is listed in the Bios the same Are the cable connections tight Make sure you have connected the drive with the right cable.

Did you FDISK the drive before formating? If so you will need to reset the partitions.
