What is causing my printer to take at least 30-45 seconds or more to print a noncomplex web page or a saved text from word 98? How can I increase its speed with the computer or whatever?

Thanks,

Ron

Hi,

In regards to your computer, you can speed it up by doing the

following:

1 setup windows"generic text" printer driver This text printer driver can save/export ascII text from HTML and DAT files by printing to a file.

2 speed up the keyboard in DOS by adding this dos mode command in the autoexec.BAT"mode con:Rate=32 delay=1 Also set the keyboard to its fastest settings in all versions of the windows in the control panel.

3 remove drive compression

4 remove screen savers or performance monitors

How to speed up your printer!!!!

1 turn of spooling.(start,settings,control panel,double click printer,rt click printer,select detail tab,click on,spool settings,click on print directly to the printer,hit ok.

2 make sure you have the latest or most recent driver.

3 enable the ECP setting This stands for extended capabilities port.

contact the mfg of your printer to see if it has this capability.
