Number Keys on rightside not working

My keyboard doesn't work on the right side facing the computer? The number keyboard--so you must type from the top numbers?? Also, if you go to Start and programs to run a scan or defrag-----nothing happens??? It's dead. HELP! Oh and I'm not sure if the information I gave on the mechanics make up of this computer is correct---I got it from a friend.

Find out if the NUM LOCK is on You can check it in the HELP MENU after clicking the START BUTTON Click the INDEX TAB and type in NUM LOCK It will walk you through the process.

SCAN and DEFRAG both need to be done when you have no open programs or files You can not be using the hard drive and expect the computer to scan or defrag the file system You also need to have enough space on your hard drive for the system to scan and save the scanned files too Good Luck!
