Well, this computer is not mine, this is my girlfriend's computer, well she is having problems with her computer...When she loads her computer it loads reguarly but suddenly it goes into safe mode and freezes on the Windows 98 screen. How do I tell her step by step how to get her out of safe mode and for her computer to continue to setup reguarly without freezing on the Windows 98 screen and switching to "Safe Mode"

Thanks, David(PS- all that information might not be correct about the computer and the checking above that you guys asked me to tell you about her computer)

Hi,

Chances are your computer is automatically going into safe mode because your windows still contains problems they haven't been resolved yet Try using scandisk to check your drive to see whether you got any lost clusters Also try looking in a file called c:\winboot.sys If this file exist, delete it as it is "msdos.sys" and it will overide the settings in c:\msdos.sys Also while in safemode, check device manager and look for duplicates or ghost items and delete them.It sounds like you might have a few of them.make sure you check all the devices.
