Mother board upgrade

I need to upgrade my motherboard and cpu. All of the other components in my current computer I want to keep-including the HDD. Do I need to reinstall/reformat the HDD before continuing with my mobo+cpu upgrade or can I just pick up where I left off.

No, I did the exact same thing for my computer.I just took my hard drive out and installed it in my new box with my new motherboard and CPU.
