How do I set up the administrator password in HP VECTRA bios

i got a hp vectra vl from a friend,they got it from a friend,thus i do not have the password .when the comp. starts it does not even allow me into windows. what do i do?

You will have to do a little mechanical work Open up the computer box and find the bios switch box on the system board Set the "CLR PASSWORD" switch on the board block to "on" Switch on the PC

and allow it to complete it's startup routine Then switch the computer off and "reset" the switch to "OFF" Reboot the computer

and let it complete it's setup routine.

If you want to give a new password, press F2 when prompted to enter the setup routine ana set the new Administrator Password.

If you do not want a password disregard the second paragraph.
