My question is about magnets. My computer desk with everything is right next to a bed that has a strong magnetic mattress pad on it. In time will all this magnetic force do any harm to my computer? Thank you for any help you can give me. Bob Harper

I don't know how strong those pads are, but I doubt it.

If your monitor starts showing a tint, this is called loss of purity It most commonly occurs when speakers are too close to the monitor, or a desk fan is present Providing no such symptom occurs, I'd think it's all right Still I wouldn't toss any floppy disks on the bed It takes a pretty strong magnet to erase them, but there is no use asking for any unnecessary degradation of floppy disk data.

Should you disassemble your PC, I wouldn't toss the hard drive on the bed, either In fact, I would never toss a hard drive around at all.
