I have been using a program to download music and since I have had problems with using my PC. The program was from iMesh.

I have removed the program but there seem to be other programs that have written themselves into my computer.

The main one eAnthology, which I have never heard of.

Everytime I now boot up my PC I get the message "Your computer has performed an illegal operation please shut down" (or words to that effect).

I also always get the Internet launching before I have clicked in the icon and whenever I click on a personal file.

Please Help

Cheers

Keith

You've been victimized by Spyware.

visit http://grc.com/oo/spyware.htm for details.

Uninstall everything you can tell was put in place without your knowledge or permission Depending on the amount of software on your PC, you may want to wait a couple of days between uninstalls to be certain you haven't accidentally deleted anything useful.

Before you install any online utilities or "helper" programs, do a Google search, including the name of the program and/or company along with the word "spyware" in your search criteria You might be amazed at what you come up with.

Additionally, download and install a program called AdAware from tucows.com It cannot spot or strip away all adware, but it might increase your, uh, awareness...
