Sometimes my cd-rom drive is not recognized by my computer. When I start up and go to load a game or eject the cd in the drive there is no drive letter displayed in the explorer list or my computer list. It also refuses to open the drive door and I have to restart the PC for it to work. This happens a lot and also seems to happen more after first connecting to the internet (don't know if this has any relevence)

Hope you can help

Thanks

Mark

Check all connections to the cd-rom make sure nothing is causing an intermittent problem with cables, go to device manager and check the cd-rom drivers and make sure they are working ok, do an upgrade if needed, going on to the Internet should n't be a factor, it's not loading properly, get original OS cd and and re-install the MSCDEX.EXE file Then check to see if you see the cd-rom in your computer.
