After I attepmted to install a Sony DRU500A DVD-/+RW on my computer, it would not startup as normal. All I got was a screen with lots of colors and lines. The hard drive if fine, I connected it to another computer and it works. I took out the DVD-/+RW and replaced my old CDRW and my computer still would not startup as normal. What went wrong and what will it take to fix it?

Your computer started up in safe mode, go into the device manager and check for conflicts, to get to device manager go start > settings > control panel and select systems, select hardware if you see a red x that's whats causing the problem, re-install the device or change the slot position for the device
