The other day my father went to turn on and boot up his laptop (electric solitaire game) and the screen stayed black. The lights on the base show that it seems to be going through the normal start-up but nothing happens with the display, not even a flicker. Thanks for your time and advice. R.C.
This question was answered on February 14, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
Make Sure that all cables are properly connected, and that all plugs are firmly seated in their sockets Check to see if the video card is firmly seated in its bus expansion slot Be sure it is not making contact with any other cards in the system
Make sure the monitor Brightness and Contrast or not set too dim And the monitor is ON!
Make sure that the monitor is properly connected to computer Be sure the monitor and your
system's power supply is operating properly ( Fan operates, system power light comes on)
Turn OFF the computer system and all other connected devices
Make Sure that the jumper/s on the video board is/are set properly and safely and the board is seated properly installed.
