What should i check for if my monitor says check signal cable?

I installed more memory into my computer, when I started it again, the monitor says: Check the signal cable.

I do not know what that is, pls help

-Check to see if the power cord is connected

-Turn on power switch

-Connect signal cable properly and check connector for bent pins
