Why you should upgrade?

Just missed you on techtv and soon after they mentioned that MS would only be staying behind Windows 95, 98, ME and 2000 for this year which leaves XP. My question is XP bugs they first had on initial hitting the market taken care of and is XP update a good choice to go with in the near future?
