Why does my computer locks up when i click on a website address ?

When I click on a website address that is embedded in an email my computer locks up. Sometimes if I wait long enough it will unlock, but will not go to the website. Usually I have to hit cont alt del to get unlocked which takes me out of my email screen. I am using outlook express. All the other email functions seem to work fine.

What may be causing the computer to lock up is that there may be too many programs runing at the same time and the computer may be in need of memory.
