Why isn't my computer reconizing my DVD CD-RW, Floopy or ZIP?

After downloading an ME patch for my Iomega Zip drive, when I open My Computer, the

DVD, CD-RW, Floppy and Zip have all vanished. I cannot play CDs on the DVD drive (it doesn't auto play, and I can't open the drive to start it because it isn't listed). I was going to try system restore, but there are no set points to revert back to. What did I do wrong??

I would appreciated any help you could give me.

First check your bios to see if your set up is correct, if it is You might need to reinstall the drivers from the installation disk for all thoes drives.
