Why my defragment programs starts again after a few percentage?

when running my defragment program it only goes to 1 percent then starts over again .

Sometimes programs running in the background, like antivirus software, will cause this kind of behavior

Shut down any programs like this and then try running defrag If you are still unsuccessful, simply restart the PC in safe mode and then run defrag

The method of entering safe mode varies in different versions of Windows If you are unsure of how to enter safe mode, look at your help files or simply search the Microsoft Knowledgebase at support.microsoft.com
