Where's my spell check located

My spell check will not work in Outlook Express. My OS is Windows XP Home. It will work in Microsoft Word but not in Outlook Express. I have it turned on. I checked with Microsoft.com and their website says they are aware of the problem but provide no solutions. Do you have any ideas? HELP!!
