What is error log?

Latley each time I try to login into my Online Banking Site I receive a error meswsage for Technical Difficulties. I have IE 6 128 bit and the online banking supprt said that I have a scripting problem and that to solve the problem I would have to download netscape and use that. I do not want to change to netscape, Can you help me make the IE work?
