Common causes:

1 Your Internet browser may not be compatible if it is an older version You will need to upgrade your browser to resolve

2 Temporary Internet files stored on your computer may be conflicting with files stored on the Internet You will need to delete your temporary internet files

3 You may have a poor connection to your Internet service provider Try logging on via another location

4 If your Internet service provider is using a proxy server, they may not support Secure Socket Layer or they may have a caching problem They will need to refresh their proxy

Optimum Screen Resolution

ninemsn recently refreshed its website to be aligned to the MSN global standards Our website is optimised for a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels

You can edit your screen size by:

1 Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel

2 Then double click Display Settings and select the Settings tab

3 Change the Screen area to "800x600"

If you are running a higher resolution then you may see a white space down the right hand side This is nothing to be concerned of; this is purely the new format to optimise readability, and usability

Identifying proxy server problems

Sometimes Internet Service Providers who use proxy servers can cause difficulties when connecting to particular sites This generally occurs when the content that they store on the proxy server has expired or been overwritten with the wrong data Secondly, if their proxy server does not support Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), this can cause difficulties when signing in to a lot of the passport enabled sites such as Hotmail, Chat, Communities, Messenger, Discussion Boards, Gaming Zone, or other secure websites

To resolve this problem you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider and ask them if they support SSL or are having any difficulties with their proxy server In some cases they may need to refresh their content in order to display the page correctly
