I HAVE A SCREENSAVER BACKGROUND THAT ONE OF MY KIDS INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER, IT IS A HALLOWEEN SCREEN, AND NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO TAKE IT OFF. IT COMES UP WITH MY WELCOME SCREEN WHEN I SIGN ON TO THE INTERNET.

Right click on the desktop, choose "properties", then "Screen Saver" and see if you can turn off the infernal thing In fact, turn off all Screen Savers If they are causing any problem at all, figure out the settings and set them correctly, or else disable them entirely Screen Savers can cause more problems than they are worth, especially when configured incorrectly.

Check if the Screen Saver program shows in your Start menu Is there an uninstall program? Is so, implement it Otherwise, check the Add/Remove programs utility under your Control Panel This may be a good time to uninstall any other treats the kids left behind Reboot between any uninstalls It's good practice.

It's possible the graphic you are seeing has replaced the graphic that ought to come up when you log on to the Internet It might not be a big deal to change, but you'll have to hunt it down, first This sort of thing would have probably been done intentionally by renaming the graphic and overwriting the one you usually see when you log on A real Halloween trick, if ever I heard one

Uninstalling and reinstalling your ISP software would solve this automatically, but be careful Call the ISP, first That's why they are there Be sure you remember your password.

Best long-term solution might to be to get the kids their own computer, then play tricks on them!
