Under Control Panel, open "Network" Make sure the Windows logon is selected, not the Microsoft network logon Restart your computer When the logon window comes up, enter a name (the more fictitious the better) Leave the password blank, then hit Enter

Windows will ask for confirmation of your changes Press "Enter" again After that, you should never see the logon screen again

For complete official information, including how to prevent Windows 98 from asking for a password, and answers to almost anything Windows in nature, familiarize yourself with the art of searching Microsoft's Support Site Microsoft's documentation is surprisingly well written, and a valuable free resource.
