On starting computer (before windows loads) on black screen I get the following message "A:/drive error press F1 to continue"

Continues to load but I cannot use the Floppy disk drive

On checking in device manager it shows Standard floppy disk controller and it says that there are no conflicts and the drive is working properly, latest windows driver installed.

Please can you try and tell me what is wrong

Sometimes just rebooting the the problems disappear and if this doesn't work You can turn off the computer and open the computer case Check every connection from the system board to the drive Check the data cable and makesure that the cable are align correctly with Pin1 Check the controller card make sure that it is correctly n place and not loose If that does not work, exchange the drive itself and try again.
