Why wont my computer boot up?

my computer was giving messages of memory error when shutting down. now my computer wont boot up. montor dosent light up until I unplug it. so I replaced video card still no response. Do I need to get new memory chips

You have to upgrade in memory so your computer would boot up or you may try to boot up with the boot up disk first and if that dont work then upgrade in memory but is more likely that you my have to upgrade in memory.You need to increase RAM on the Motherboard
