Why my computer freezes?

my computer freezes up most the time when im scrolling at site, or when im using yahoo messenger, just typing a message to a friend and it freeze up, seems most the time, when im using my mouse to move something like playing a game or anything it locks up, i have to shut down manually, and sometimes when yahoo messenger opens it freezes , ive tried your suggestion about going to settings and clicking on control panel then sliding the accelerator bar back to none, that didnt work, so what else can i do. thanks

You may have added too much to the normal running programs or are using too much memory

128M memory is not much today, 256 is better

Turn off those screen savers, desktop background pictures, reduce the number of icons on the desktop

Defrag the hard drive and increase the swap memory
