Check your Startup group It's under Start > Programs > Startup

Is there anything included which is associated with CD Drives? A media player, or CD recording icon, perhaps?

Check your BIOS settings to see if your CD Drive is specified as your boot drive.

If not, there are other places a program can be launched at startup.

The problem may be connected with your drive A bad button switch, perhaps.

This is a really odd problem Without sitting down at the computer and exploring all the strange possibilities, asking lots of questions, doing a virus scan, and possibly ordering an exorcism, it can be pretty difficult to determine.

I have had stranger things happen The cause was often a bad CD Drive.
