I have a cable modem and a home network. There are 2 computers on the network. One works fine and the other will not access the internet. I keep getting a dsn error on the bottom of the browser. All the other equipment is OK and the computer works fine offline.

This is going to be interesting to answer, you didn't quite explain what type of home network you have, you have a cable, but are you using a router, switch, or hub along with it It's pretty obvious yhat your computer gets a DNS message is because that second computer is not getting any information from your cable modem Goover your network and see if you need one of those devices i previously mentioned and connect it to your cable modem, and connect to both computers.
