There must be billions of different printers on the market, but I have to suspect your black cartridge Storing those things is a bit tricky, as the heads tend to dry out Try cleaning the head gently with a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol If you can't get the ink to flow, try a new cartridge.

The only other thing it might be would be the drivers which run your printer Is there an options setting for black and white printing? Click, or right-click on your printer icon to find out Check the website for the manufacturer of your printer, then download the latest driver file Uninstall your printer, then install the new drivers The instructions will be included on the site.

The latest drivers for my printer give me an annoying nag screen whenever I use my black cartridge I have to click "Ignore" whenever I print mono graphics The only thing I can think of, is this is a ploy to get me to buy an expensive color cartridge.

Printer manufacturers make no money on the printers they sell The cash is in the cartridges Some newer cartridges disable themselves from usage if they are refilled Watch this as a possible source of problems.
