Why does the montior screan get widerat times

My computer's screen sometimes goes wider (things are viewed wider) and then returns to its regular size but sometimes it doesn't.

First reboot in safe mode by pressing f5 and select in safe mode then go to setting and to display then go to resloutions and adjust the resolutionto your needs and reboot the comptuer in normal mode the do the same prosses if that dont work check video card if that doenyt work you need to take the monitor to the tech.
