What is shut down?

hello sir,

in my operating system(xp) .. after installing while shutdown .. i mean if i select shut down from start menu i used to get horizontal menu without any logo which shows 3 options

hibernate turn off restart..

but after using some days i done the same for shut down but i got a menu with logo..which contains

a logo which contains the same options..

but change was logo appeared and for options i have to scroll .. how can i overcome this..

and one more that is.. while shut down i can see only hibernate,restart,turn off at first time.. but my computer supports standby too.. how can i watch all these 4 at one time as i told above without any logo...

There's a logo to show you the final options to choose before shutting down so that you have another chance to stay on just in case you change your mind or just in case you have another option Another way to shut down the computer would be to press ctrl alt del
