Who do you bring back the old settings?

From power up my screen doesn't display anything and the power indicator to the screen goes to standby mode. There is no power to the keyboard also. This is a result of me plugging in a games pad to one of my usb sockets whilst the machine was on...Silly me! Please help.

you need to start in safe mode by pressing f5 or f8 and go to

start and then run MSCONFIG and press launch systen restore and back day it before you installed the game pad it will restore it to the setting from before.
