Where is the power supply for the monitor?

Just recently my computer's resolution and desktop graphics became very poor. It seems like I am now using a very old computer, foe example, the desk I-cons graphics are very poor. I don't know how to fix it? An also the screen even shrunk and doesn't use the monitors potential space.
