Why am I doing more than needed

I'm going to wipe the hard disk and start from scratch. I plan to install IE6 instead of IE5... . Which files/folders if any can I backup to keep my links etc. and do I put htem back into the same folders after the new install?

First of all why are you going to erase your hard drive, you actually can install IE6 without erasing your hard drive just go to search on your tools bar and type in IE6, locate the page and follow the directions on downloading and installing this should actually ugrade your browser but keep all your files and folders as they are.
