Where have packets gone?

i have got a router (linksys) the problem i am having is that 2 of the three computers are recognized and mine the third isnt. when i try to connect directly to the cable modem there is still no connection being established. when i look at the connection properties i have nothing when it comes to received packets. i am sending but not receiveing any.

Do you know what the problem is???????????????

You will ahve to troubleshoot this, let's first take a ;ook at the nic card ping it with the loopback address 127.0.0.1 if you get a succesful reply your nic is good if not try another one, second sweitch ports on your router with one of the other computers if you get a connection then your cat 5 is good but the port the port on your router isn't try a hub or switch and put two of the computers on that .
