What is wiping error message from desktop to keep it from popping up?

When I log on and my desk top is booting up, an erro message with Icon is displayed in the tray next to the clock stating the following:

[Device or Application Disabled. 'Direct CD' will cause windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. Click here for more details.]

When I clicked on the link the Roxio web site came up. I followed the menu for trouble shooting and loaded what I believed to be the correct driver patch.

Then another error message popped up when I tried to install the patch saying: "There is no Direct CD found on your computer. Unable to complete process"

I used the search method to find any Direct CD files but to no avail. How can I wipe this original error message out so It will not keep popping up when I start my desk top?

Delete all cookies and files from the Temporary Internet Files through the Control Panel/Internet Options.
