I have a high-speed internet connection. I am connected through a D-Link 4-port router to set up a home network. I recently downloaded Zone Alarm and noticed it used alot of memory. I would like to keep as much of my memory freed up as possible for performance. Do I need to have a firewall installed in addition to my router or is my router enough security ?

You don't really need another firewall the router's firewall is good enough The routers use a generic ip address that only cable mo0dem can see It cannot see your hardware or ip address on your computer nor can anyone else for example try netmeeting with a friend and you wil see that you cannot get a connection.
