Hi, I am having trouble with the computer which will restart at strange moments. It has done it while I am watching a dvd, downloading things of the internet or when I am surfing the internet. I have some virus software running called norton antivirus which was set to auto update but i took that of and it still has the same problem. It has been happening for a while now. I have moved my computer a bit and wondered wether it is possible that the heat sink was dislodged some how. I don't think it is software because not long ago i formatted the hard disk and reinstalled all the software that i needed. I happened during this time. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Richard

The computer restarts because of the programs running When downloading things off the internet or any kind of software, the computer restarts so that the software will be upgraded Even if you took off the "auto upgrade" you still have the program running and you are still downloading things on your computer Therefore, it will continue to restart as long as you keep downloading stuff on your computer Look into the software that you have installed and find out what the computer is supposed to do once something is installed or downloaded.
