Why it crashes when I am on-line?

computer works fine off-line, as soon as i go on line the computer crashes with an error parity message and will not go on-line it just keeps crashing

Please check the phone line in the back of the modem and make sure it is connected properly If that doesn't help then next check the communication software for the speed assigned to it Mnay times people set the communication speed for the modem speed instead of for the software is asking for, the port speed, which should be for times the modem speed.
