What is the best cable modem on the market at this point in time? I have had dsl and have signed up with cox for cable internet service. They have a list of many modems on their web site. I want to buy and not rent. While cost is not a concern, it will be use only for home use and web surfing. I will not be using my computer as a web site server.

There are many dsl and cable modems on the market and they are all docsis compliant meaning whatever provider you are using that cable modem or dsl unit will work One will not give you better performance than another that's advertisement look up docsis and find out the dsl protocol.
