What is retrieving data from floppy disk?

I saved some information onto a floppy disk yesterday. I put it into my computer today to save it to the hard drive and it suddenly won't allow me to open it. I had used it 3 days in row & it worked fine. I tried several computers at work. Most said that I did not have access to the (A:) drive and 1 computer said that the disk is not formated. Is there a simple way I can open my saved material? It doesnt appear to be scratched. This information is important and I dont have time to send it out to a company such as yours because I am on the east coast.

I would appreciate any suggestions you can give me before I lose my mind!!!
