When you get a message that sound device is currently in use by another application." or you

get a message saying that a program is "not responding," This means that another software application has the sound device (also known as sound boards or sound cards) open and is using one of the audio channels On Windows computers only one application at a time can use the sound device If you want to see this error message, exit the program that you suspect is using this device, then:

1 Hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys and press the Del key The Task Manager dialog box appears

2 You may find that the program, or a component of the program, is running Highlight the component and click End Task
