DLL-hell

Every time I start my computer it comes up on the screen that "cannot find necessary file WS2_32.DLL without this I cannot use my scanner & it won't let me install any software including reinstalling Windows 98.

Also everytime I set my homepage to my isp the next time I turn it on I get Melvista homepage.No matter what I do it always comes back to this I need to get rid of it.

This happened to my computer once or twice This is a result of a faulty installation or corrupted files or even software incompatability I fixed it fairly easy:

Step one:

download this file http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?ws2_32

Step two:

UnZIP it into your c:\windows\system and c:\windows\system32

Step three:

Reboot

This worked for me.
