Change that battery

My system is using a ECS motherboard with a AMD 2000+ processor. I have trouble occasionally that when I power the system on the clock and date will be wrong (by two years or so) and the processor will show a lower speed (1200 or so). Other settings in the bios will also be off and this will affect window XP once it boots up. If I go into the bios and set up the proper settings the system operates fine and you can shut it down and turn it on later and all is well. This happens when the system sits off for a while and then you turn it on. I suspect the battery needs replacing but the motherboard is only 6 months old and I wanted to ask your opinion.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

If you can backup any important information, do so and change the battery, it might have been sitting for a while and starting to lose it cells
