I have connectivity to the internet via a cable modem. This was installed thru the USB port.

Recently, DSL has been made available to me. "When I hooked up the DSL line thru my ethernet card, it shows that the card is working( on the network and dial up connections , it shows connected time) kut the computer cannot find my internet home page or any page for that matter.

The questions is why could this be happening and second can the DSL signal be inputed thru a USB port similiar to my cable modem can be made to work that way.

When connecting a Dsl internet connection you have to make sure that all filters that you installed on a every working telephone jack in your residence is installed correctly.

If the filters are not installed correctly you are not going to connect to the internet.

Also some Dsl providers state that you are connected when you are really not Contact the DSL company's tech support just to verfiy that your internet connection is working.

As far as your second question I have a DSL modem and I do not have a available USB cable connectors There might available modems out there with that type of connection Check your DSL modems manual to find out your DSL modems configurations
