I was building a computer for a school project, and I had a problem. I built the computer like it was suppose to be, but one day i turned it on and it did not start up correctly, it just stayed at a black screen. Then I resarted it but the computer was not detecting any of the drives (hard drive DVD and CDR) Then I returned my Harddrive and exchanged it for a new one. I installed it, but now the DVD and the CDR were not working. I push the eject button but it does not come out. It just makes a loud noise like a scrapping sound. Can you please help me im having some problems here, and this Senior Project is do in about three weeks. Thanks.

Ok, if you can put everything back to the original setup, when it comes to your monitor, either it was unplugged or plugged into a non working outlet, also did you check to see if it was connected to the video card in the rear of the computer If your still having problems with your monitor replace your power cord, try it on another computer to see if it works When it comes to the hard drive, do you hear any beeps, is the power supply fan turning, open up your computer and check hard drive ide connections, card connections and power cable connections do power on self test (post), and reconfigure all of your drivers.
