What is power supply?

CD drive opens within 2 seconds of computer start-up.

Drive close normally when switch is depressed.

Thereafter CD drive will not open.

Any attempt to open drive crashes the system.

You may have a problem with the power supply Check to see if everything is properly installed but I honestly don't understand why the system would crash after attempting to open a drive??
