I recently added another stick (64 meg) of memory to my laptop. Now when I try to shut the computer down it freezes on the "windows is shutting down" screen and I must manually shut it down. Of course, upon starting, I get the blue screen. What is causing this and how can I troubleshoot or fix it?

Remove the previous stick of memory to see if the old one is faulting.
